My 2024 BYD Attos 3 is not charging.
I was abroad for 1 month and when I came back, the entire car was (and still is ) off. It is not charging either. Anyone know what could it be ?

The most likely cause is a flat 12 V battery. When the 12V is dead the car cannot wake the high-voltage system, so the contactors never close and the car will not accept a charge. After a month parked, this is common.

What to do now
  • Either use a jump starter to wake the car, or buy a smart 12 V charger and recover it properly.
What charger to buy in Portugal
  • 5A to 8A smart charger with AGM/EFB modes, low-voltage start, and a recovery mode.
  • Solid picks commonly sold in Portugal: NOCO Genius 5, CTEK MXS 5.0, Victron Blue Smart IP65 10A (I have included Amazon links as there are Black Friday deals on those at the moment).
How to use it
  1. Car completely off and unplugged. Open the bonnet.
  2. Connect charger positive to the marked positive post, negative to a solid chassis earth (look for a marked ground stud or solid, unpainted metal on the body or strut tower).
  3. Select 12V, choose AGM or EFB if offered, then start charging.
  4. When full, press start to wake the car and plug in your charger to charge the high voltage battery.
If it still will not wake or the 12V drops again after charging, replace the 12V battery. If the car wakes but still refuses to charge, it needs dealer diagnosis for the DC-DC system, fuses, or high-voltage interlocks.

Prevent repeat after long trips
  • Park around 50 percent traction SOC, lock the car, and if you have safe mains power use a 12V maintainer.

BYD assistance came and boosted the battery but when I drove and arrived at the supercharger I turned off the car and it is all off. Called back and told me that I could boost again my 12v battery plugged to a normal car just until it restarts. Is that right ?

Not a good idea to turn the car off until you're sure the battery has decent charge.
Yes, you can jump the 12 V battery from a non-EV car.

How to do it safely
  1. Park the donor car close, both cars off and unplugged from any charger.
  2. Find the EV’s 12 V jump points under the bonnet.
  3. Connect red clamp to the EV’s positive post.
  4. Connect black clamp to a solid chassis earth on the EV, not the battery’s negative post.
  5. On the donor car, keep the engine OFF. Do not start it.
  6. Wait 2 to 3 minutes, then press the EV’s start button once, then brake and start to reach READY.
  7. Remove the leads in reverse order.
  8. With the EV in READY, the DC-DC converter will recharge the 12 V. Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes, or plug in your home charger to keep the car awake while it recovers.
It may be that your battery needs replacing after being fully discharged. This happened to me on a different EV years ago.
I recommend you get a charger.
